Get paid online
Your customers can pay your invoices online, by card or straight from their bank account (ACH), on a page made for each invoice. The money goes to your own Stripe account and from there to your bank; your books follow by themselves. (Dated 2026-10-12. Online payments are an add-on; Evenbead runs Stripe in test mode until it goes live.)
What it costs
No monthly fee. For each payment you pay Stripe's own price, billed to your Stripe account by Stripe (in the US: 2.9% + 30¢ for a card, 0.8% capped at $5 for a bank payment), plus Evenbead's fee: 0.3% of a card payment, $1.00 per bank payment. Your customer pays exactly what the invoice says: no surcharge is ever added.
Set it up (owner or CPA)
- Settings, Payments, Set up payments. Stripe opens: give it your business details and the bank account payouts go to. Evenbead never sees them. You get your own Stripe account with Stripe's full Dashboard.
- Back in Evenbead the page shows what Stripe still needs, if anything, and whether payments and payouts are on.
- Switch on online payments. Evenbead makes four accounts the first time (you can choose others): 1310 Stripe Clearing (what Stripe holds for you), 6155 Payment Processing Fees, 4950 Refunds and Allowances and 6156 Chargebacks and Disputes, and sends payouts to your checking account if you have one (choose it otherwise).
Choose whether you accept cards, bank payments or both, and whether new pay links accept part payments. You can also accept USDC through Stripe (Stripe's own stablecoin method, where Stripe has turned it on for your account): your customer pays in USDC, Stripe settles dollars to your Stripe balance, and the books show it like a card payment (Stripe's price is 1.5%; Evenbead's fee 0.3%). To receive crypto into your own wallet instead, see Get paid in crypto.
Pay links
Each open invoice can have one pay link, https://pay.evenbead.com/i/…. When online payments are on, emailing an invoice adds the link to the email and its PDF, and reminders carry it too. On the invoice's page you can copy the link, see how often it was opened, turn it off, or make a new one. The page shows your company's name, the amount due and the invoice's lines; the customer pays on Stripe's own checkout page. A bank payment takes up to 4 business days to clear; the page says it is processing until then.
What your books show
Nothing to post by hand. Each thing Stripe does is posted once, in your audit log as system stripe:<your account>:
| At Stripe | In your books |
|---|---|
| A payment | A payment received on the invoice into Stripe Clearing (a part payment applies what was paid), and the fees as an expense |
| A refund | A credit memo to Refunds and Allowances, refunded out of Stripe Clearing; the invoice stays paid |
| A dispute (chargeback) | The amount to Chargebacks and Disputes and Stripe's $15 fee to fees; if you win, both come back |
| A bank payment returned after it cleared | The payment is voided and the invoice is open again |
| A payout | A transfer from Stripe Clearing to your bank account; when the bank's line arrives (bank feed or statement), Auto-match pairs them |
Stripe Clearing always equals what Stripe holds for you. Each payout has a page (Settings, Payments, Payouts) that lists the payments, fees, refunds and disputes it carried and says whether they add up to the deposit; it downloads as CSV.
Refunds
On the invoice, under the payment, Refund (all or part, with a reason): the company's owner or CPA only. Stripe keeps its processing fee; Evenbead's fee is returned in proportion. A disputed payment is settled through the dispute in your Stripe Dashboard.
Agents
Your agents (REST and MCP) can make and send pay links and read payments and payouts: create_pay_link, send_pay_link, get_pay_link, list_online_payments, get_online_payment, list_payouts, get_payout, get_payments_settings. Sending follows the same approval rules as any email an agent sends. Refunds, the payout bank account and the add-on's settings are for people only, and the database refuses them to an agent's credential.
