Get paid in crypto

Invoice in dollars and let your customers pay in Bitcoin, Monero, USDC or USDT, straight into wallets you control. Evenbead watches for the payment, marks the invoice paid and books what arrived at its dollar value when it arrived, with a cost basis you can report. (Dated 2026-10-12. Crypto receipts are a paid add-on, $12 a month, a proposed price.)

What Evenbead never does

Evenbead never holds your money, never holds a key that can spend it, never moves it and never converts it. It only ever needs watch-only information:

AssetWhat you giveNever give
BitcoinThe wallet's extended public key (xpub, ypub or zpub; tpub/upub/vpub on testnet), or an output descriptor (wpkh(...), sh(wpkh(...)), pkh(...))The seed (recovery phrase), an xprv, a WIF private key
MoneroThe wallet's primary address and its private view keyThe seed, the private spend key
USDC, USDTYour receiving address on the chain (Base, Ethereum, Solana for USDC; Ethereum, Tron for USDT)A private key

If you paste a seed phrase, a private key or a Monero spend key by mistake, Evenbead refuses it, says why, and does not store it. Keys you give are encrypted at rest and never shown again (you see a shortened form like zpub6r…k3Qp).

Set it up (owner or CPA)

  1. Settings, Billing: add Crypto receipts.
  2. Settings, Crypto: switch it on. Evenbead makes five accounts the first time (you can choose others): 4910 Realized Gain/Loss on Digital Assets, 4920 Unrealized Gain/Loss on Digital Assets, 4930 Gain/Loss on Crypto Settlement, 1490 Digital Assets Fair Value Adjustment and 6160 Crypto Network Fees. Choose how long a quote is valid (30 minutes by default), how many confirmations a Bitcoin payment needs (2 by default; 1 to 6) and a Monero payment (10; up to 30).
  3. Add a wallet for each way you want to be paid. Each wallet gets its own asset account (1400 and up). Something the wallet already holds? Record it as an acquisition (quantity, cost, date) so its lots are right.

Invoices

On an invoice, tick the crypto your customer may use, then Get a quote (or the customer does it on the pay page). A quote is the amount still open, in the asset, at the current price (the median of several public price sources), valid for your quote time. Each invoice gets its own Bitcoin address and Monero subaddress. Stablecoins go to your one address: the exact amount carries a tag of a fraction of a cent (for example 125.000317 USDC) so Evenbead knows which invoice it pays; on Solana the payment also carries a reference. The quote shows a QR code your customer scans with their wallet. Your customer can also do all this on the invoice's pay page (pay.evenbead.com, the link in your invoice email), which lists the crypto you offer and makes a quote when they choose one; the invoice PDF carries the options too (QR code, amount, address and until when the amount holds).

  • Paid in full while the quote is valid: the invoice is paid.
  • Paid less: that share of the invoice is paid; the rest stays open.
  • Paid more: the invoice is paid and the rest is credit on the customer's account.
  • Paid after the quote expired: the payment counts at what it was worth when it arrived.
  • A payment that matches no quote waits on Settings, Crypto: apply it to an invoice, book it to an account, or ignore it.

A payment counts once it has your confirmations (Bitcoin, Monero) or is final on its chain (Ethereum, Base, Solana, Tron).

What your books show

What happenedIn your books
A payment on an invoiceA payment received into the wallet's account for what it settles; any difference between that and the coins' value when received to 4930; a lot at that value (your cost basis)
You sold, spent or moved crypto (you tell Evenbead)The lots it came from leave the wallet (first in, first out, or the lots you name); proceeds against their cost to 4910, short or long term
A network feeThe fee's value to 6160, its cost out of the wallet, the difference to 4910
Month endBitcoin and Monero at fair value: the difference from cost to 1490 and 4920, reversed the next day (each month starts again from cost)

Stablecoins count at exactly $1 while their price is within 0.5% of $1; beyond that, at their market price.

A wallet's account always equals the cost left in its lots: Evenbead refuses a manual journal line on a wallet account, and voiding a crypto payment, because either would put the books and the lots out of step.

Taxes

Reports, Crypto gains (or GET /v1/crypto/gains?from=…&to=…&format=csv) lists every disposal by lot: description, dates acquired and sold, proceeds, cost basis and gain, short and long term. It is the worksheet behind Form 8949 and Schedule D. The tax handoff's generic CSV carries the short- and long-term totals and the month-end remeasurement (in book income, not taxable) as memo rows. Not covered: reconciling a broker's Form 1099-DA, elections and state rules (your preparer's).

Privacy

Your Monero wallet is watched on Evenbead's own node. For Bitcoin and stablecoins Evenbead asks public explorers about one address at a time, never your whole wallet, over Tor, on a connection of your company's own. Those services can still see the addresses asked about (not who asked).

For agents (REST and MCP)

Agents can read wallets, lots, receipts, disposals, gains and prices; offer crypto on an invoice (set_invoice_crypto) and quote it (create_crypto_quote); and propose a valuation when no price is available (record_crypto_valuation; a person confirms it). Adding or changing wallets, disposals, settling unmatched receipts and settings are for people only.
